Oily skin

If your skin is too oily, it's because your sebum production is out of balance. Your skin becomes greasy more quickly, you have a shiny complexion, your pores are clearly visible and you are more prone to skin blemishes. Pimples and blackheads can then form more frequently, especially along the T-zone as well as on the décolleté and back due to the excess sebum. The oily skin type is particularly noticeable during times such as puberty when our hormones change. Especially when there is increased production of the male sex hormone androgen, your sebaceous glands work so hard that you tend to have oily skin with large pores and impurities. But oily skin also has its good side: It is very resistant due to the greasy protective film and is therefore better protected against external radicals. In addition, wrinkles due to dryness do not form on the face as quickly.

Holistic care tips

The important thing is that you listen to your skin! Especially when it comes to care products and make-up, you should make sure that less is more. If you have oily skin, it is important that you give it time to breathe so that the skin pores do not become calloused and inflammation can form. Above all, you should stay away from chemical care products, as they imbalance your acid mantle, causing your skin to desperately try to produce more sebum (fat) and thus becoming more and more oily.

According to the well-known theory: fat dissolves fat. Or in other words: Non-polar solvents (tallow and oil) are best dissolved by similarly composed non-polar solvents (such as oil). If you use aggressive products on oily skin, your skin's protective layer is increasingly destroyed and the skin desperately tries to restore its oil layer. So your skin becomes more and more oily. So it's better to use care products with natural ingredients that regulate your sebum production and inhibit inflammation in the form of pimples and blackheads.
