Today I want to introduce you to someone wonderful from our team: our dear Lea! 💤
Lea is an important part of our design team. She brings not only her talent and creativity but also a huge amount of heart – and always ensures that everything is created with a lot of love for detail. In this post, she tells you what inspires her, what her creative process looks like, and what it means to work at Eulenschnitt. Enjoy getting to know her!

Lea, you originally come from Pellworm, a beautiful island in the north. How has this home influenced your design work and your creative perspective?
Pellworm shapes me to this day and influences my view on design and creativity daily. The island is not only quiet but also shows itself from very different sides – sometimes rough and stormy, sometimes with beautiful sunsets. Especially the sea means a lot to me – it immediately gives me a good feeling, and as soon as there is water near me, I just feel comfortable. This connection to nature is also reflected in my work. Often it is the small details that fascinate me and that I particularly emphasize. I like it when designs have a clear, calm effect and yet are lively. Pellworm is my home and a place where I always recharge. With family and friends, I can breathe here and start everyday life with new energy.
You like to spend time by the sea. Are there special moments or inspirations you have found during a walk on the beach or in nature that have flowed into your designs?
Yes, definitely! The vastness and infinity of the sea inspire me a lot. It gives me the feeling that everything is possible and new ideas can arise and are unlimited. I perceive the colors and moods of nature, and often these impressions actually flow unconsciously into my designs.

What characterizes your creative process? Are there certain rituals or moments when you have your best ideas?
My creative process is very different. Sometimes it just flows – I am in the so-called flow, and the ideas come almost by themselves. But there are also moments when it takes longer, and then I look for inspiration on Pinterest, listen to music, or ask my colleagues for advice. The good thing is that my design everyday life is often a mix of creative phases and quieter moments in which I can simply work through things. This change does me good and helps me stay focused.
What does Eulenschnitt mean to you and how do you feel being part of this team?
Eulenschnitt really means a lot to me. It is not just a creative workplace, but rather a big family where everyone works on equal footing and is valued as a person. That is truly special, and my colleagues have become very dear to me. It’s simply fun to be part of this team, to contribute my ideas, and to exchange so well with the others. Secretly, I had wished since my training to be able to work here someday, and when it finally worked out, a small big dream came true!

Is there a design or project at Eulenschnitt that you are particularly proud of?
I am especially proud of the Instagram Advent calendar I designed last year. It was so much fun to develop the little surprises with the girls and capture that Christmas spirit. Otherwise, I like painting watercolor cards and especially like the small storage jars with the flower meadow. More great projects are coming soon – stay tuned!

You have built the online section at Eulenschnitt with great products like the download posters. What inspired you to implement this idea, and how do you see the development of digital products at Eulenschnitt in the future?
The idea to develop digital products like our download posters came about because it is a great way to offer our Eulenschnitt customers something they can easily print at home. It’s simply fun to see how creative designs come to life in your own four walls! The category is still in its early stages, but the list of ideas is long, and I look forward to the design team gradually expanding this area.
What exactly is part of your daily work as a designer at Eulenschnitt? What do you particularly enjoy and what might be challenging about working in design?
My daily work life as a designer is very varied. I work on many projects at the same time – from designing new products to advertising materials to collaborating with the team to implement new ideas. What I especially like is the creative freedom at Eulenschnitt, which allows me to try out new ideas. It is always nice to see how an idea turns into something you can hold in your hands later and then also see in stores.

It was so wonderful to get a behind-the-scenes look with Lea and learn more about her work and inspirations! Her passion for design and her connection to nature make every project something very special. We are incredibly happy to have her on the team and look forward to all the creative ideas that are yet to come! Thank you, dear Lea, for your great insights and for enriching Eulenschnitt with so much heart and creativity!
Feel free to tell us in the comments what interested you most about Lea's creative processes or her source of inspiration! And do you now also feel like taking a trip to Pelworm like I do?
