Leas Lieblings-Zimtschnecken: Ein Rezept für gemütliche Wintertage

Lea's favorite cinnamon rolls: A recipe for cozy winter days

What would the cold season be without the tempting scent of cinnamon and fresh dough wafting through the house? Our dear colleague Lea recently treated us to her absolute favorite recipe: fluffy, juicy cinnamon rolls that are simply perfect for cozy winter days.

Because we all loved them so much (and would love to eat them every day), Lea shared her recipe with us – and today I get to share it with you too. These cinnamon rolls are not only incredibly delicious but also super easy to bake. So grab a cup of hot cocoa and let's get started!

Ingredients for the dough:

  • 500 g flour
  • 260 ml milk (lukewarm)
  • 60 g soft butter
  • 40 g sugar
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 half cube of yeast
  • 1 half teaspoon cinnamon

For the filling:

  • 100 g soft butter
  • 60 g brown sugar
  • 2 tsp cinnamon

You can also download, print, and keep the ingredient list for the cinnamon rolls in your recipe book here

And this is how you make Lea's cinnamon rolls:

    1. The dough:

    • Heat the milk lukewarm and melt the butter in it.
    • Mix flour, sugar, vanilla sugar, salt, and cinnamon in a large bowl.
    • Crumble half the yeast cube directly into the flour mixture.
    • Add the warm milk-butter mixture to the bowl and knead everything until a smooth dough forms.
    • Cover the bowl and let the dough rest in a warm place for 40 minutes.

    2. The filling:

    • While the dough rests, mix the soft butter with brown sugar and cinnamon into a smooth mass.

    3. Shaping the cinnamon rolls:

    • Roll out the dough on a floured work surface into a large rectangle.
    • Spread the cinnamon filling evenly on the dough, leaving a small edge (about 1 cm) free.
    • Roll the dough from the long side and cut into 10 equal pieces.

    4. Resting time and baking:

    • Place the cinnamon rolls with some space between them in a greased baking dish. Let them rest again for 30 minutes.
    • Preheat the oven to 180 °C fan and bake the cinnamon rolls for about 25 minutes until golden brown.
