Dekoriere mit uns den Holzkranz Hereinspaziert

Decorate the wooden wreath Hereinspaziert with us

Today we have something very special for you: The lovely Valeria from Lykkeandyou has prepared a tutorial with us on how to beautifully decorate our Holzkranz hereinspaziert with dried flowers.

Who is Valeria, actually?

Valeria is an incredibly warm-hearted person, loving Mama, and impressive founder who has made it her mission to make your and our four walls cozier. She achieves this with fantastic dried flowers and beautiful wreaths. You just have to visit her site www.lykkeandyou.de stop by. You will definitely find the perfect little piece of coziness.

What do you need?

• the Holzkranz Hereinspaziert
• a small bunch each of Eukalyptus, Glixia, and Mohnkapseln
• 2-3 stems of Schleierkraut
• 1-2 stems of Ruskus
• some thin, flexible wire
• a pair of scissors

Here’s how to do it:

Depending on the density of the bouquets attached to the wreath, you need 20-25 small bouquets. To make them as easy as possible to make, we recommend cutting the stems of the dried flowers to 5-6 cm. This way you can bind the wire better and the small bouquets can be stabilized even better on the ring.

Now make 20-25 small bouquets to attach to the wreath in the next step. The upper part of the bouquet makes up about 2/3, the stems 1/3.

Now secure the wire to the wreath before you start wrapping the bouquets. Tie a loop here and wrap it about three times around the wooden wreath.

Place the first bouquet where you attached the wire to the wreath. Now wrap the stems about three times with the wire and pull it tight. Do not cut the wire but continue wrapping it around the wreath base. Your bouquets will then be attached like a braid pattern on the right and left at the lower third of the previous bouquet.

As you continue, you can see that the bouquets are attached to one side of the wreath base and the wire runs along the back. Always wrap the new bouquet and the stems of the previous one. With your three turns, you get enough stability. Now attach all bouquets until you have 3-4 left.

At the end, place a bouquet opposite to the tied ones and secure it with the wire. Insert the stems under the flowers of the previous bouquet. Now place another small bouquet on the binding point to cover the wire. Try to thread the wire through the dried flowers to hide it.

My tip: Don’t cut the wire too short so that you have enough room at the end to secure everything and possibly add some more dried flowers.

Form a loop with the rest of the wire. Close it by wrapping the end twice around the base of the loop, twisting it, and tightening it.

Finally, trim the stems that are too long or tuck the stems into the existing wire loop.

Now you can, as you like, add leftover dried flowers to your wreath and pull the flowers out a bit more to get a little more fullness.

Your self-tied dried flower wreath is finished. It looks especially great on your front door.
