Christmas is just around the corner and I can hardly wait to enjoy a delicious Christmas dinner with my family and unwrap the lovingly chosen gifts together under the Christmas tree. After the pre-Christmas hustle and bustle, the relaxed Christmas evening is just right. As every year, shortly before the holidays, you realize that a small gift for a dear person is still missing. For these moments, my dear colleagues Lelle and Nele show you today 3 last-minute gifts that you can easily and quickly make at home.

1st DIY: Paint and decorate candles
Our first DIY that I show you here is not only a wonderful last-minute gift but also a sweet decoration for your home. It is also a lot of fun to paint the candles. You can design the hand-painted candles individually and let your creativity run free. The great thing is that you probably already have all the necessary products at home.
You will need:
- White taper or block candles
- Colored tealights of your choice – we love the red shades!
- Fine brushes

Here's how:
First, light the tealights in the colors of your choice and wait a few minutes until the wax of the candles has melted. Once the candles are ready, you can start painting the taper or block candles with a brush. Lelle and Nele chose small cute hearts, dots, and stripes. You can also wonderfully gift the candles with a stoneware candle holder. I can't decide which candle I like best. Feel free to tell us in the comments which pattern you like best.

2nd DIY: Make chocolate crossies yourself
Our 2nd DIY is for everyone who can't get enough of sweets. We show you how easy it is to make chocolate crossies yourself. The quick recipe is a perfect last-minute idea that you can sweetly gift in our storage jars or enjoy yourself.
You need for about 15 pieces:
- 100g chocolate
- 50g cornflakes
- Storage jar for gifting
The amounts can vary depending on how chocolaty you like your chocolate crossies.

Here's how:
First, you need to melt your chocolate in a water bath and then pour it into a bowl. Add the cornflakes to the melted chocolate and mix the ingredients. Using two tablespoons, you can form small chocolate crossies and let them dry on a plate. Once your homemade chocolate crossies are firm, you can fill them into a storage jar. You can also decorate the storage jar sweetly with a gift ribbon and tag. Everyone will be happy about that!

3rd DIY: Design the storage jar
For our 3rd DIY, Nele and Lelle have prepared a small template that you can use to paint the storage jar. Isn't the idea super cute?
You will need:
- A storage jar of your choice
- The printed template
- A white chalk marker
- Decoration for the storage jar of your choice

Here's how:
First, print out the template and place the paper into the storage jar. You can trace the little houses of the template with the chalk marker and create a small winter world. Design the storage jar individually and fill it according to your ideas. With a candle in the storage jar, it makes a perfect gift for everyone who loves a cozy atmosphere.

We wish you wonderful holidays, unforgettable moments with your loved ones, and lots of joy giving your handmade gifts. Feel free to tell us in the comments what will be under your Christmas tree this year. We are very excited!
